The Western Digital WD1200JB is a high-performance 120GB EIDE hard drive with a massive 8MB cache, that makes a fine upgrade for users looking for a good chunk of disk space at a reasonable price. I purchased one through Amazon and the order was fulfilled through OfficeMax/TechDepot; it arrived quickly and was well packed. It will fill my need for a lot of fast-access disk space for miniDV film work. This drive is simple to install under Windows (I added it as a second drive to a Windows 2000 system), but as this is an OEM package you literally just get the drive in an antistatic bag, and nothing else. i dont know about the negative reviews, but i have had nothing but great experience with western digital. i see that some1 posted that their hd died in a week. Sounds unusual, just for the fact that my computer is on for more than 15 hours a day, and sometimes its on for days straight at a time and its still running strong a year later. Overall i got a good deal on this product with a rebate and it was worth the buy.
