I Bought this for a friend's computer, as the hard drive had failed, so the computer wouldn't boot, so I replaced it with this Item, and it hasn't even been a year, and it is already starting to have problems. (Everything from Scans and Defrags came back clean, and not much is contained on the hard drive), and it is starting to die out again. (The power supply has also been replaced, so that's not the cause either). I guess be careful and pay a little bit more for a better one next time.

I wanted to upgrade from an 80 GB but 120 GB was the maximum that would work on my 4 year old computer. So I installed this when it was time to reinstall windows. This has a much faster transfer rate than the OEM drive. I chose this over other manufactures hard drives because of their 5 year warranty. I didn't even have to run their disk wizard. I installed the drive and ran the windows restore CD's without a hitch. It does have a slight hum when running but the room has to be quiet to hear it, the OEM made no noise. I still give it a 5 because of it's performance.

Best hard drive i've ever owned. Had many maxtors, ibms and western digitals. All bummed out on me after intensive uses ranging from 6 months to 2 years. This seagate works perfectly and is extremely fast. My new trusted parter in hard drives is seagate.
