I was almost about to trade mine in so I could buy a PS3 slim with more capacity. Searching for buying options I found out that you could upgrade your hard drive without voiding the warranty, and in only 20 mins with only a screwdriver and a steady hand. I was running out of space fast due to downloading movies and TV episodes. I reviewed several other drives before choosing this one. The Seagate stuck out above the rest for two main reasons: -First being that the original hard drive in my PS3 is a Seagate, so if Sony trusts them so do it. I also decided to stick with 5400 rpms because that is the spec for all PS3s, and the 7200s have gotten some poor reviews for noise, heat, and no real gain in performance. Very simple to install, the PS3 asked to format my new drive, and after the format, I had 500 gigabytes of space.
