Hitachi Deskstar 0A35415 7K500 500 GB 3.5-Inch SATA 7200RPM 16 MB Hard Drive

The 3.5" 500GB deskstar 0A35415 was delivered earlier than promised and was packaged pretty good. I've only had it for a week. Hard drive has worked flawlessly so far. Very quiet and no heavy vibration either. It's very snappy and doesn't get hot even during HD intensive processes. The extra capacity was much needed. Some drives of this size are $4-$6 cheaper but I get the impression from the reviews that they aren't as reliable as this one. I pray this drive will remain reliable in the long run.

This replaced a failed hard drive in my security system. Toshiba hard drives rate very well on several websites, have same brand in my laptop also. The cheapest by far on any other site I've seen. Arrived quick. Seen elsewhere for up to $200. Amazon is great again, Thanks. PS. I'm watching for one of your tv's to come down to last months price, then I'll buy. $60 cheaper on another site.

Got it off ebay when I destroyed my old hdd. Very impressed. It is fast, has 16mb of ram, and quiet too. I have had no problems with it. Compared to the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid drive that replaced it, there was not enough improvement to warrant seagate's 2x price premium over this one. Sure, after a while, boot seems to be faster. But that is about it. Window's own tests gave them both identical ratings.
