It is very fast, super quiet and if it didn't have the light on it you'd never know it was on. The only thing (a quibble) that I wish it had was an automatic spindown mode as I use it for backups only. My other USB drives (WD mostly) will spin down when not accessed for a period of time, conserving power. The good point is that this drive is available immediately after a length of time but it's still drawing power and putting revolutions on the spindle.
