Installation a breeze. Use? Absolutely fantastic. Tried both 2.5" and 3.5" drives. Worked equally well. Now it's easy to buy a bare drive and use it for either image backups or file backups! Heartily recommend this product.

This review is from: AZIO ADP-SU33 - 2.5and3.5 HDD Docking Station SATA to USB2.0/eSATA Black Retail (Electronics)
The device works as expected, after inserting a 3.5 inch drive, format the drive, and the drive appear. You will then able to copy files to the drive. However, once you insert the drive, it is running at full speed and never stop until you turn the drive off. Hence, my review title 'use for backup only'. My original intent was to get a router with USB, plug this in and use it as a cheap NAS, but since it does not have a standby mode, I will have to opt for a 'real' external disk drive.
WORKS PERFECTLY,

I migrated from the Apricorn active cooling enclosures several years ago for this HDD dock. I have three of these for multiple PC's and a plethora of hard drives of varying capacities. Basically, I have found these Azio docks to be well-built and trouble-free.
I run it in eSATA mode, but it also has USB2.0. Due to the lack of support for USB3.0 in Windows, which MS will not support until Win8, I passed on the few newer USB3.0 docks, as the drivers are lackluster and do not provide much (if any) real world increased thruput over this device's eSATA speed, but can cost up to four times the price.
I have never used the "one-touch" backup feature or SW provided with this drive, so I cannot comment on it.
This product supports HDD's only up to 1TB. I have stayed away from +1TB drives due to well-documented failure rates; I have multiple 1TB Seagate HDD's, and have never suffered a bad drive.
