This review is from: 64GB KingSpec 1.8" IDE CF 50-pin SSD Solid State Disk (MLC) (Electronics)
Had an old Dell Latitude X1 that was very slow mainly due to the factory installed Toshiba 1.8" drive. Used the SSD drive to replace the old drive and upgraded to Windows 7 at the same time. Works very well as a replacement. The benchmark software shows a 10x improvement in read speed and about a 5x improvement in write speed (on average). Windows 7 also seems to be quicker than the original XP install that came with the laptop. I did notice the drive does stall out when hit with lots of simultaneous writes, especially if Office tries to close a lot of open documents at once. Has certainly given this old laptop another few years service. Now respectable for reading email, surfing or document writing.
