I have been researching for a SSD for my aging laptop that has been serving me well for almost 5 years and unfortunately it only uses the PATA (IDE) interface, so my options for SSDs was very limited. Most of the drives with the PATA interface do not support TRIM and it is assumed that none of them do, due to the fact that the older interface does not have all of the latest ATA commands (e.g. TRIM); however, after installing my drive into my laptop and putting Windows 7 on it, I have discovered that TRIM was enabled within the operating system. According to SSD Tweaker v1.8, this drive has TRIM or at least TRIM is in enabled in Windows 7. Oddly enough, according to SSD Life v1.0.12 the drive does not support TRIM and yet TRIM is enabled within Windows 7?! I am uncertain if this is due to the fact that SSD Life does not detect the drive correctly (since this drive is unsupported at the moment by said program) or somehow Windows 7 can implement TRIM on a drive that does not have TRIM...Read more

Unable to use this drive, so I gave it 2 out of 5. This product description should warn you that this drive is missing some of the standard screw locations. It only has the side mounting holes, and none on the bottom. Also, if size is an issue, be warned this drive is several millimeters thicker than most 2.5" laptop drives.
